Liminal Stars

The table top roleplaying game of the future

Liminal Stars, is a tabletop role-playing game. The goal of the system is to be easy to learn, quick to set up, and fun to play.

Easy to Learn

People are often intrigued by table top RPGs; with near limitless customization options, fascinating worlds, and memorable social experiences, there is a lot to like. However, I often hear from people that they would like to try these games, but are intimidated by the massive rulebooks and cluttered character sheets.

Liminal Stars plans to alleviate these woes by providing a minimalist set of rules, that are clear and easy to understand.

The core gameplay relies on the roll of a d10. No one wants to spend three or four turns rolling to attempt a simple task, and the d10 ensures that actions are more meaningful. Actions are successful most of the time, this works for you and your enemies. Strategy and planning will win the day, not just drawn-out encounters resolved by a lucky (or unlucky) dice roll.

Use cover, use abilities, work together with your friends.

Quick Setup

Character creation is simple and you don't need to worry about being locked into your choice. Character creation can be completed in just a few minutes with a piece of paper, or by using the Liminal Stars companion app on your smartphone.

The equipment system provides players with endless customization, while keeping players free to change up their choices at almost any time.

Diverse Characters

Be the space explorer you've never thought to be! Liminal Stars features a wide variety of alien species to play as, each with its own unique stats and abilities.

Human- Newcomers to the galaxy, humans are known for their well-rounded abilities. It was the humans who initially proposed the Palioxian Conglomerate, which united the civilized species.

Fenron- A race of tall (3 to 4 meters) fur covered humanoids with canine features. They hail from the Frigideus star, which is small and cold. As a result, Fenrons are most at home in harshly cold climates. Traditionally Fenrons live in small nomadic packs.

Fuxunai- Quick and charming, the Fuxunai are small (1 meter on average) humanoids with fox-like features. They come from hot desert worlds and have always had a fascination with the stars.

Avarin- Graceful feathered humanoids. They are intelligent and agile.

Oloden- Long eel-like creatures not suited for life out of water, however they are very intelligent. Olodens are almost always found operating a water filled robotic suit.

Sierelves- These aquatic humanoids use their colorful scales to attract both prey and mates. Until recently the Sierelves were considered to be savages, however it seems that as the waters of their homeworld dwindle their inclination to be diplomatic has improved.

Bouldrok- A massive silicon base life form. While they are strong and can weigh as much as a ton these gentle creatures mostly exist to laze about and enjoy a varied mineral diet.

Dureg- Stocky, hair covered, underground dwellers. The Duregs dig caverns and tunnels to build massive underground cities. They are strong and intelligent; however, years underground has made their natural eyesight quite poor.

Endless Customization

Each character comes equipped with their own External Threat Mitigation Pack. The ETMP can be customized by upgrading or adding utility modules. Don't get complacent though, you might find it beneficial to change modules according to your current situation.

Over 20,000 possible module combinations to allow you to travel the stars, your way.
